Guardian Malaysia: First Semi-Finals of "The Face of Healthy Beauty" @ City Square, Johor Bahru

What can you think about with the tagline of "The Face of Healthy Beauty"
To me, it symbolises enthusiastic, active, cheerful, confident, and love yourself. It is not necessary to be physically attractive; having a beautiful soul that lives up your life to the fullest in a healthy way is what really matter too.

Of the same concept, Guardian Malaysia is actively looking for four women who can best fit the bill as "The Face of Healthy Beauty". The first semi-final was held in City Square, JB where 4 shortlisted participants from 25 entrants of this region were chosen to attend the Grand Finals in Shah Alam on 27 July 2019. The other semi-finals will be conducted at Gurney Plaza Penang, Central i-City Mall Shah Alam and 1Borneo Hypermall Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

According to Soren Lauridsen, the CEO, South East Asia of Guardian: "The search of the Face of Beauty is not a beauty contest. With the changing of lifestyles and economic circumstances, health and beauty are no longer as clearly defined as they used to be. To Guardian, healthy beauty is a person who lives life to the fullest in a healthy way, has a distinctive style and pleasant personality. She is someone with a positive attitude, gives priority to being healthy first; and looks after her physical beauty too." This concept is at the core of Guardian's brand philosophy which was in line with consumer insight that good health is the foundation of true beauty.

Each winner of Grand Finals will sign a one-year contract as Guardian Brand Ambassador that comes with RM10,000 cash, RM10,000 Guardian vouchers and RM5,000 to give to a charity organization of their choice. Besides, they will be featured on the Cover of Guardian's Brand Catalogues and other collaterals as well as receive products from participating sponsors

The Semi-Final was divided into three sessions:
🌺 Self-Introduction
🌺 Q&A Session
🌺 Makeover Challenge

[Self-Introduction]
All the contestants were so confident in introducing themselves, talking about their careers, passions, personality and life goals. I was so motivated by every single word from them. They were so confident, determined, active and with powerful inner strengths as a woman.

[Q&A Sessions]
In session 2, participants were asked to answer a question based on the number they chose. What amazed me the most was that all the ladies were so steady in giving their answers. They were willing to share about their lives, their opinion in some life situations, as well as their experiences in balancing between outer and inner beauty.

[Makeover Challenge]
Last but not least, the makeover challenge where all the participants were required to complete a full makeup look within 15 minutes. There was no certain theme for the look, as long as the look was able to highlight their personalities and bring out their confidence. To be honest, it was the most challenging part to me as I usually spend around 1 hour for my simple makeup but the fact was that ALL the participants were managed to complete the makeup look within the time limit. They were so talented!

After the three challenging sessions, it was the time for judges to compile the results. Four outstanding ladies will progress to the Grand Finals in Kuala Lumpur!
